Moral Code and Biological Drive

If you thought that only men are interested in sex you could be far from truth. In fact women are more creatively engaged in sexual pursuits though not blatantly. The sexual drive is the same in both men as well as women, except that with the social customs and traditions that have defined the roles and responsibilities for both male and female, there is more of a outward acceptance of male sexuality being the pursuer and females are expected to be coy and be pursued.

It is also another fact that biologically speaking men are driven by physical senses as well as reason and logic, while women are dominantly emotional and feelings drive their sexual needs. Actually speaking is sexual drive only a physical reality? If it were to be so there would be no difference between human beings and animals, for animals are purely instinct bound and sense bound in terms of sexual drive. Nature intended man to be different. Man is a highly evolved species who has been endowed with not only a highly developed senses and physical body but also with a higher consciousness, reason, discrimination and more importantly love. It is Love that keeps the procreation going on in the human society and this is distinctly separate from sex.

However this concept of love and emotions is not easily understood by young adults as well as young females when they just enter puberty. The hormones are ruling their physical passion and the physical passion and drive overtakes reason and emotions in many people. But nature has been very kind, for it is through love that binds the male and female to procreate as well as to nurse and bring up the young ones until they reach adulthood. This is nature's law and manmade society and laws have been developed based on this fundamental law of nature.

The right purpose of sex with regard to love, procreation, family and responsibility is something that is required to be imparted to the youth in every society. With the blatant public display of sexually oriented media programmes the youth in all societies are getting mis-guided and are no longer deep routed in family values and societal value systems. Without adequate and precise information and awareness it would be disastrous for young adults to explore the world of sex. Little do they realise that they are causing physical as well as mental and psychological harm to themselves. Physical passion should not and cannot be a mechanical process which is what it is going to be if one does not value or cultivate the right attitude towards sex. It is bound to drain and abuse the physical energies as well as the senses and body of the man who is indiscriminately engaged in sex. We can see more and more youth succumbing to diseases like Aids due to their mis adventures. Besides they start developing erectile dysfunction and lack of sexual drive early on. Most youngsters have inaccurate knowledge about Viagra and with misconceptions believing that it increases the sexual drive in oneself, make it a point to consume Viagra without doctor’s prescription. This is rampant across the country. Little do they know that it is to be consumed only to set right the erectile dysfunction that is caused due to poor blood supply to the penis? In no way does Viagra increase the libido in man. By the time they come to marriageable age and when it is time to get married and settle down to raise a family, they find their libido spent and struggle to keep their wives happy. Besides these habits, most youngsters also take to smoking and drinking which further causes greater harm.

Don't let this happen to the youth around you. It is for each of the adults in the family to ensure that the youngsters are made to grow up with the right information, awareness and attitude which makes them responsible for themselves as well as others and respect relationships. Though we might have projected extreme situation, nevertheless this is not a matter that should be regarded lightly.
